Dear readers,
after few years of blogging I felt the need of a change, not only for the design but also for the contents, the structure and the aim.
Contents
Over time I learned to refine my tastes and to focus my attention on the things that I really like and that I think my blog should talk about. They are: museums, especially house-museums, but also villas, gardens, art places with the priority given to Italy; unusual people, strange stories from the past and mostly forgotten; art and artists unknown and not considered mainstream.
Structure
I collected all your comments and criticism and tried to solve the flaws of the blog.
My blog has always been a slow blog. That means, I include only long posts that aim for accuracy and require a lot of time to put together. But other times it would happen that I wanted to share short news in a faster way, as when I want to talk about exhibitions or events etc. So I’ve tried to give the blog a more dynamic aspect and create contents more quickly.
Now you have a homepage where you can see the latest posts at the top. And I’ve simplified the categories as: photodiary, which includes all the posts that consist primarily of pictures; articles, longer posts and those mainly in Italian; fragments, quick posts of different kind of contents. Anyway you can see all the posts here. At the bottom of the page I included the social contents from instagram, as it’s part of the blog too.
A lot of people asked me to make the blog easier to read and to consult. As I have posted a lot of things over the years and people often ask me for things that I’ve already blogged about, I thought that my first aim was to make the blog more readable. So I created an archive which is organized in three ways: by chronology, which shows what I wrote each month; by map, if you prefer to see the places; and by list.
Unfortunately I can’t solve the problem of language for now. That means that I can’t translate every single post and especially not the long articles. So all that I can do is to write the short and visual posts in English and the long ones in Italian.
Aim
Basically I want to make the blog more professional and turn it into something close to an online magazine. Doing this will require including contributions from people that I have known through the years. So from now on you’ll find articles by other authors as well.
Finally I renewed the about page with a new picture and new FAQ.

essendo passato ormai qualche anno da che curo questo blog era giunto il momento di fare dei cambiamenti per quanto riguarda i contenuti, la struttura e gli obiettivi.
Contenuti
Con il tempo ho imparato a definire di più i miei gusti, concentrando l’attenzione solo sulle cose che veramente mi piacevano e che ho capito essere anche i contenuti più adatti al blog. Per questo mi concentrerò sopratutto su: musei, e specialmente case museo, ville e giardini, luoghi d’arte in generale, sempre con una particolare attenzione all’Italia; personaggi bizzarri, ma anche storie strane e spesso dimenticate; arte e artisti poco conosciuti e fuori dai grandi circuiti.
Struttura
Ho tenuto conto di tutte le critiche e i commenti che mi sono stati fatti e ho cercato di risolvere i difetti.
Questo è sempre stato un blog “lento” cioè che include post molto accurati e lunghi che richiedono però molto tempo per essere scritti. Spesso volevo condividere notizie più corte e in modo veloce, come quando devo parlare di mostre, eventi etc Quindi ho cercato di dare un aspetto più dinamico in modo da inserire contenuti più velocemente.
La homepage presenta in alto, a scorrimento, gli ultimi post pubblicati e poi a seguire ci sono categorie specifiche che sono: photodiary, che include articoli composti prevalentemente da foto; articles, post più lunghi e principalmente in italiano; fragments, post brevi di diverso contenuto. Ad ogni modo tutti i post sono visibili qui.
Mentre alla fine della homepage ho messo in evidenza instagram poiché lo considero parte stesso del blog.
Poi, molti mi avevano chiesto di rendere il blog più leggibile. Spesso infatti mi è stato chiesto di scrivere su cose di cui avevo già scritto in passato quindi ho pensato che il primo obiettivo era rendere tutto più facile da consultare. Ecco perché ho creato un archivio diviso per: cronologia, che mostra i post in ordine cronologico; mappa, se si vogliono vedere i post in base ai luoghi; lista.
Persiste il problema della lingua, che non posso risolvere perché trattare tutto in italiano e in inglese richiederebbe troppo tempo. Dunque cercherò di tradurre in inglese almeno i post più brevi.
Obiettivi
In sostanza volevo rendere il blog più professionale e meno personale, cercando di avvicinarmi il più possibile ad una specie di giornale online. Sopratutto ho voluto includere articoli di altri autori, di cui si troverà la firma alla fine del post.
Infine ho rinnovato la pagina di presentazione con le domande frequenti e la foto profilo.
